Quarterhorse breed of horse, or quarter mile horse

Quarter Horse (Quarter Horse) - a breed of horses bred in the United States. The name of the breed is associated with the ability to run as fast as possible a quarter mile long (faster than horses of other breeds).

The history of the Quarterhorse horse breed begins with the appearance of horses on the American continent.

The colonists could not do without stocky and strong horses. With the help of these magnificent animals, people grazed cattle and appreciated fearlessness, athletic abilities and reliability in maned assistants. These small but firmly knocked horses could stop instantly and turn at full gallop.

Later in Verginia, where horses could gallop at least a quarter of a mile, they started racing at these distances. And quarter-horses, thanks to their powerful muscles and the ability to break off the bat (literally) and develop frantic speed at short distances, were no equal.

And at present, it is precisely the quarterhorse that leads the western competitions (for example, rodeo and barrel racing).

Quarterhorse is the most popular breed in the United States these days. Around 3,000,000 quarterhorse horses are registered worldwide.

Quarterhorse is not a very high horse. The height at the withers of the quarterhorse is 150-163 cm.

The head of the quarterhorse is wide, short, the muzzle is small. Eyes wide apart, big, smart.

The body of the quarterhorse is compact, the chest is wide, the lower back is powerful, the hips are muscular and heavy, the croup is slightly sloping, well muscled, strong.

The suit of the quarterhorse can be any one-color.
